RGU Launches Full and Partial Scholarships for Children of NE Police Personnel, Expands Holistic Support Schemes

GUWAHATI: Assam Royal Global University (RGU) has unveiled two exclusive scholarship programmes to honour and support the children of police personnel from all eight northeastern states of India. The new initiatives—‘Royal Shaurya’ and ‘Royal Suraksha’—reflect RGU’s continued commitment to inclusive and accessible education.

Announcing the scholarships, Prof. (Dr.) D. N. Singh, Registrar (Academic), stated that ‘Royal Shaurya’ offers a 100% scholarship for the wards of martyred police personnel and recipients of gallantry awards. ‘Royal Suraksha’ provides a 50% tuition fee waiver for children of serving police officers across the region. Both schemes apply to academic programmes governed by statutory bodies such as AICTE, COA, PCI, INC, ANMHVC, BCI, and other regulatory councils.

In addition to these two new scholarships, RGU offers a diverse range of financial aid opportunities aimed at recognizing academic excellence, promoting social equity, and nurturing holistic talent. These include:

• Royal Merit on Admission Scholarship: A 100% waiver on annual, admission, and registration fees for students with outstanding academic records at entry-level.
• Royal Scholarship for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): Complete tuition support for students from low-income families.
• Royal Endowment Scholarship: Available across all academic programmes, this scholarship supports students who excel in sports, music, or fine arts; those who are differently abled; wards of Padma awardees or recipients of Assam Baibhav, Saurav, and Gaurav honours; children of single mothers; and those from families earning less than ₹8 lakh annually.
• RGU Sports Scholarship: Tailored for student-athletes, this programme awards scholarships ranging from 40% to 100% based on performance in district, state, national, or international events recognized by the Indian Olympic Association. The scheme also includes mentorship and coaching for athletic development.
• Monthly Scholarships for Semester Toppers: Merit-based monthly financial awards for academic excellence during the course of study.

Through these targeted and inclusive scholarship programmes, Assam Royal Global University aims to foster educational opportunities that transcend economic, regional, and social barriers—ensuring that deserving students from diverse backgrounds can pursue higher education with dignity and support.
