Tenzin Zimba, hailing from the quaint village of Nyukmadung in Dirang subdivision (West Kameng district), has achieved the remarkable feat of securing Rank 1 in the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Combined Competitive Examination (APPSCCE) 2024, with a stellar total of 1,312.75 marks.

A first-class Law graduate from Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), class of 2021, Zimba began making waves early on. In 2022, in his maiden attempt at a state-level exam, he topped the APPSC Law Officer Examination.

Since October 2022, he has been serving as a Law Officer for the Government of Arunachal Pradesh.

Belonging to the Monpa community, Zimba is the son of Dr. Tashi Phuntso, the principal of Government College in Bomdila, and the late Dechen Droma.

Zimba emphasizes that cracking the civil services exam requires consistency, a structured approach, and a solution-oriented mindset—not necessarily genius.

His philosophy is rooted in steady effort and thoughtful strategy, a testament to his belief in method over magic.

Studied until Class 8 in Bomdila before moving to Assam for higher schooling (at DPS Numaligarh).

Clearing in first attempt at the competitive exam, selecting the Arunachal Pradesh Police Service as his top preference. He dedicates his success to his father and late mother.

This narrative is about persistence, rooted in humble beginnings, and elevated by thoughtful discipline. Zimba’s journey shows that consistent effort and a solution-focused mindset can pave the way for extraordinary achievements.
