Shillong: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma marked a day of significant educational and healthcare initiatives during his visit to Mairang on Tuesday.
Attending the Silver Jubilee celebration of Pyndengumiong Presbyterian Secondary School, the Chief Minister announced Rs 15 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Special Development Fund for the extension of the school building and an additional Rs 3 lakh to support the jubilee festivities. He also assured assistance for providing musical instruments to the school.
Furthering the State’s commitment to modern learning infrastructure, Sangma inaugurated the newly constructed school building of Manai Higher Secondary School. The facility features smart classrooms and a community digital library aimed at enhancing digital access and fostering technology-enabled education.
The Chief Minister’s itinerary also included a visit to Mairang Civil Hospital, where he reviewed the existing facilities and services to assess requirements for improved healthcare delivery in the region.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Sangma reiterated his government’s focus on strengthening rural education and healthcare, ensuring that development reaches every corner of the state.
