Guwahati: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced the key examination schedule for the academic year 2026, bringing clarity and relief to lakhs of students across Assam.
According to the official update, the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2026 will commence from 10 February 2026, while the Higher Secondary Final Examination (HS) will begin from 11 February 2026.
Speaking on the announcement, Chief Minister Sarma said that ensuring timely examinations is a priority for the state’s education system. He expressed confidence that students are well-prepared and encouraged them to stay focused in the weeks leading up to the exams.
“These examinations mark an important milestone in a student’s academic journey. I extend my best wishes to every student appearing for the HSLC and HS exams,” the Chief Minister said. “May they work hard, stay disciplined, and achieve success.”
With the dates now confirmed, schools, teachers, and students across Assam have begun their final preparations for one of the most crucial phases of the academic calendar.
