NEP 2020 Regional Workshop on Technology-Enabled Higher Education Begins at KKHSOU

Guwahati: A three-day regional workshop on “NEP 2020 and Higher Education Leaders: Technology as an Enabler” commenced today at the City Campus of Krishna KantaHandiqui State Open University (KKHSOU), Khanapara. The programme is being organised by the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), New Delhi, in collaboration with KKHSOU.

The workshop seeks to strengthen the leadership capacities of higher education administrators and facilitate the effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, with special emphasis on the integration of technology and artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education. A total of 54 participants from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Meghalaya are attending the programme, representing universities and colleges across the North Eastern Region.

The inaugural session will be graced by Prof.Rajendra Prasad Das, Vice-Chancellor, KKHSOU; Prof.ShashikalaWanjari, Vice-Chancellor, NIEPA; and Prof. Ramesh Ch. Deka, Vice-Chancellor, Cotton University, who will attend as the Chief Guest.

Vice-Chancellors, Deans, Principals, and senior academic administrators are participating in intensive interactive sessions focusing on outcome-based education, blended and experiential learning, curriculum redesign, and the responsible integration of generative AI in teaching, assessment, and academic administration. Renowned academicians from NIEPA, including Prof. Kumar Suresh, Prof. Pradeep Kumar Misra, and Prof. K. Srinivas, are serving as resource persons for the workshop.

The programme is being jointly coordinated by Dr.IndraniKalita and Dr.Sanjib Borah of KKHSOU, with Dr. Pranab Saikia, Professor & Dean, Study Centre (i/c)  acting as the Nodal Officer. The workshop will conclude on January 9 with a valedictory session, during which participants are expected to present institutional action plans for the technology-enabled implementation of NEP 2020.
